June 03, 2010 Chocolate Bonds
Normally we wouldn’t promote any of our competitors (we’re just a lot classier than say Godiva who talks about us all the time on their blog) but a British chocolate company has grabbed our attention. The British chocolate company, Hotel Chocolat, is trying to raise money for their company. Typically a company will issue a bond that will pay a certain interest every year. This chocolate company, however, is trying to pay its investors back in chocolate. People who buy these ‘chocolate bonds’ will receive a lot of chocolate every year instead of plain old boring money.
We thought this was a pretty good idea, although we aren’t about to start offering chocolate bonds. If you do want to receive a bunch of custom chocolate bars every month, however, you can check out our chocolate of the month club. It’s a much cheaper way to receive delicious chocolate annually (the chocolate bonds run around $5000 dollars.)

May 27, 2010 Official Chocomize Ingredients PollOver the past couple of weeks we have gotten a lot of suggestions for new ingredients. As always, we don't want to keep these suggestions to ourselves but rather ask you what you would like to customize your chocolate bars with! So here it is... The official 'Chocomize Ingredient Addition Poll'. Have fun! Â
May 20, 2010 Ingredient ContestOver the past month we’ve been getting a lot of requests and suggestions for ingredients that we should add to our website. We wish that we could add all of them but unfortunately that would be almost impossible (there have just been too many.) Here are six of the most requested ingredients in the past month. We can’t decide on which ones too add, so we’re going to let you guys do it for us. Vote in the comments section for your favorite ingredient, and recommend some to add to the list. We’ll add four more to this list and then the top three most popular will be added to our website! Â
Â
Puffed Rice: Puffed rice is exactly what it sounds like…puffed rice. It’s pretty popular in a lot cereals and adds a great texture to your personalized chocolate bar.
Swedish Fish: Swedish fish were actually invented by a Finish company but have been marketed in the US by a Swedish company. It’s kind of confusing to us, but either way it would be awesome for you chocolate candy bar.
Junior Mints: Junior mints are a popular candy that has a mint filling surrounded by dark chocolate. Here’s a fun fact: over 15 million are produced each day (a little more than the amount of Chocomize made each day…)
Cookie Dough: This is a popular addition for ice cream and would be a great ingredient for your chocolate bar. We would use cookie dough bites, the popular candy usually sold in movie theatres.
May 20, 2010 Top Five Bar NamesHere are the top five bar names of the week, they seem to be getting better and better, thanks for keeping us entertained!
May 18, 2010 Ingredient of the Week: Graduation Plaque
If you’re searching for the perfect graduation gift, look no more. Our personalized chocolate bars make the perfect gift. Send the right message with our ‘Congratulations Grad’ plaque. We actually had a lot of corny messages that we decided not to use such as ‘Congrats on your sweet success’… Our custom chocolate bars are really popular not just for graduation gifts, but also for graduations parties of which we offer great discounts and the ability to customize your own message. My brother is graduating from college soon and is going to get a milk chocolate bar with a ‘Congratulations Grad’ plaque, sour patch kids, chocolate candy pieces, and gummi bears. I would say sorry for ruining the surprise, but my family is pretty used to getting Chocomize chocolate bars for gifts (I still haven’t heard anyone protesting.) What kind of chocolate bar would you want for your graduation?

How small is the world?
Yesterday I had one of those moments that are just too unlikely to be true. My parents are currently on a trip through Asia and they told me a story last night that I thought you would like to hear about. They were taking a train tour through North Vietnam and happened to be sitting next to two young guys from the UK who were taking a gap year before university to discover the world. The guys were chatting with my parents and asked if they had kids and what they were doing. The first thing my dad told them was that one of his sons started a chocolate company in the United States and told them the whole nine yards about Chocomize. Ok, a quick rhetorical question in case you have fallen asleep already: What are the odds that two 19 year old guys from the UK, went to a party in Los Angeles that had Chocomize party favors, only to meet my German parents on a train in Northern Vietnam? Impossible? Well, once my dad said the word Chocomize, the guys smiled and knew exactly what was going on. How could he forget the delicious custom chocolate bars at the Academy Awards party in L.A? Well, I guess the world really is small sometimes. Ever had a moment like this? Share it with us!   Fabian |

Mom’s aren’t the only ones who love chocolate. Father’s Day is fast approaching (June 20th.) Make sure you show Dad a little love

Black Licorice: This delicious candy is made from the extract of the licorice root. It’s extremely delicious on its own, but tastes even better in a custom chocolate bar.
Kit Kat: This popular candy bar consists of a wafer covered in chocolate. We would break the bar up into parts and place it throughout your Chocomize bar.

It’s graduation season! Summer is quickly approaching and nothing marks the transition in seasons like the end of the school year. Whether it’s someone in your family graduating from high school or a friend finishing up college, it’s a good bet you know someone graduating from school. This brings us to the ingredient of the week, our graduation plaques.
